The main corrosion parts of the cooler are the heat exchange tube, the connection between the tube and the tubesheet, the junction between the tube and the baffle plate, and the shell. The corrosion causes are as follows: due to the dirt, scale in the medium and the eddy current wear of the inlet medium, the pipe is easy to corrode, especially the pipe end corrosion at 40~50mm of the pipe inlet end, which is mainly due to the eddy current disturbance of the fluid at the dead corner.

Due to the poor quality of the welding seams of the shell and accessories, corrosion is also easy to occur. When the shell medium is electrolyte, the shell material is carbon steel, and the baffle plate for the tube bundle is copper alloy, electrochemical corrosion is easy to occur and the shell is corroded and perforated.
