How to deal with frosting on industrial air cooled chiller?

Methods and Techniques for Dealing with Frosting Faults

If the LJ -45°C ~ -10°C Low Temperature Refrigeration Chillers experiences frosting failures, it is necessary to promptly use professional methods to complete the troubleshooting process in order to ensure the safe and stable operation of the equipment. If the equipment cannot be prevented from continuing to frost through shutdown, then there must be a fault in the equipment components that need to be addressed in a timely manner.

If the optimal processing timing is incorrect, the safety of the chiller will inevitably be affected, and even the energy consumption of the equipment will continue to increase, which is not conducive to the long-term use of the chiller by enterprises.

Frosting hazards are significant and need to be dealt with in a timely manner

In the event of frost failure, in order to avoid affecting the operational stability of the equipment, it is necessary to adjust the operating duration of the equipment in a timely manner, and formulate a suitable use plan for the enterprise when using the water chiller.

By avoiding overload operation of the equipment, it can reduce frosting failures of the equipment, thereby extending the service life of the equipment, and reducing the cost of using water chillers for enterprises.

If the chiller has a frost fault, the operating power of the equipment will be directly affected. In order to better use water chillers, enterprises need to formulate operational plans. Using industrial water chillers within the scope of the plan can reduce the use cost of enterprises and provide protection for maintaining stable operational efficiency.

1. Check whether the amount of refrigerant is within the standard range. Whether too much or too little filling can affect the normal operation of the chiller.

2. Is multiple water chillers used in parallel? If the number of units started is large, it is necessary to check whether the startup time of the frosting unit is too long (the combined unit has a control panel that can set the startup and shutdown time of each chiller as required).

3. If it is a water chiller, please check whether the opening of the expansion valve is too large. Can be slightly adjusted (if it is an electronic expansion valve adjustable circuit control panel).

4. If the opening of the expansion valve is too small or there is a blockage, the amount of refrigerant supplied will decrease, which will cause the evaporation temperature to be low and cause frost on the evaporator fins; If the refrigerant does not evaporate completely and flows back to the return pipe and compressor for further evaporation, it will cause frost to form on the compressor and return pipe.

5. Check whether the heat exchange effect is poor due to excessive or dirty filter residues or dirty evaporator fins, and if the refrigerant does not evaporate completely and flows back into the return pipe and compressor, causing frost to form due to continued evaporation.

6. If the operating environment of the water chiller is poor or the air is not circulated, it can also lead to poor heat dissipation and affect the unit frosting.
