Selection of Chiller Evaporator

 

Friends in the manufacturing industry know that the evaporator is a very important part of the four major components of refrigeration. The low-temperature condensed liquid exchanges heat with the outside air through the evaporator, and the air absorbs heat to achieve the cooling effect.

For the selection of industrial chiller evaporators, let me introduce to you below.

It can be said that there are many types of evaporators, which are easy to operate and are widely used in chemical, pharmaceutical and other industries. So, how to choose a suitable evaporator when producing chillers?

The following are the factors that should be considered in the selection of evaporators:

(1) The composition of the solution in the evaporator;

(2) Material handling capacity and production capacity;

(3) The initial concentration of the material and the temperature of the liquid supply;

(4) Finishing liquid end temperature and product requirements;

(5) Thermal stability of the material;

(6) The boiling point of the solution increases;

(7) Foaming, surface tension, liquid viscosity, etc. of the solution;

(8) Scale-forming ingredients (calcium sulfate, calcium phosphate, silicon, etc.);

The following is the special selection of evaporators under different conditions:

1. The water tank immersion evaporator is used for the open circulation system of the non-volatile refrigerant. For the production process of ice making in brine ice pools, closed loop systems cannot be used, so this type of evaporator is the only advisable type. Tank immersion evaporators can also be used for chiller refrigeration systems that cool or freeze bagged foods in brine and centralized spray air conditioning.

2. The corrosion of salt water to ferrous metals is very serious, and its corrosion effect is more serious when it comes into contact with air. Therefore, when the production process allows, try to use a closed cycle. For volatile refrigerant circulation system, closed circulation must be used. In both cases, the horizontal shell and tube evaporator is the best choice for the chiller.

3. When the industrial chiller adopts water tank immersion or shell and tube evaporator, the working temperature of the refrigerant should be about 5 °C higher than that of the refrigerant evaporator, and the solidification point of the refrigerant should be 5~8 lower than the refrigerant evaporation temperature. ℃ (water tank immersion evaporator 5~6℃, shell and tube evaporator 6~8℃).

4. Selection of cooling exhaust pipes and cooling fans: For cold storage, cooling fans are usually used to increase the cooling temperature. For freezer rooms installed in small cold rooms, rack-mounted exhaust pipes or wall pipes can be used to add top pipes. For cold storage where you want to prevent the goods from drying out, wall pipes or top pipes are usually used. Cooling fans are usually used in cold rooms without drying problems.

5. For the evaporator of the industrial chiller with a low evaporation temperature, attention should be paid to the influence of the height of the refrigerant liquid column on the evaporation temperature of the chiller. The lower the evaporation temperature, the greater the effect of the liquid column. Therefore, certain measures should be taken to reduce the height of the liquid column in the evaporator.
