Common Causes and Solutions of Water Leakage in Chillers

 

The premise of the normal operation of the chiller is that the water circulation, refrigerant circulation, and electrical control system must be kept normal. If there is a problem in any one aspect, the cooling water unit will not work normally and affect the production of the enterprise. If there is water leakage in the refrigeration chiller, it usually occurs at the connection between the water pipe and the water pipe.

The water circulation system of industrial chiller is composed of water inlet pipe, evaporator, water outlet pipe, water tank, chilled water pump, cooling water pump, condenser, etc. There are water leakage failures at the joints of pipelines and valves. Basically, these parts are indispensable. Let’s take a look at the solutions to the water leakage of the chiller.

1. Water leakage at the inlet and outlet of the chiller is generally caused by loose or broken bolts at the connection, and it needs to be repaired or replaced;

2. If the evaporator shell of the chiller leaks, it is necessary to check whether there is water seepage in the welding seam of the evaporator shell, and weld and repair it in time;

3. There is water leakage at the float valve of the chiller, and the float valve controls the switch of the water inlet valve according to the buoyancy. Solution: Check and adjust the position of the positive ball valve, and replace it in time if it is damaged.

4. Water leakage from the condenser perforation in the chiller. Solution: find out the fault and repair it in time;

5. The cooling water fluctuates during operation due to the overfilling of the water tank of the chiller, resulting in water leakage. Solution: lower the water level of the water tank;

6. The water tank of the chiller is leaking, which may be due to the corrosion of the welding part of the water tank, resulting in water leakage, which needs to be re-welded for repair;

7. There is water leakage at the water pump of the chiller, generally because the shaft seal at the water pump is poorly connected or damaged, and the water pump shaft seal can be replaced;

8. If the chiller is tilted for a long time, it will cause uneven stress on the valves, pipelines and other parts of the chiller, resulting in damage and water leakage. The chiller should be placed horizontally according to the specifications.
