The Role of Filter Drier in Chiller

In the chiller refrigeration system, the filter drier is a necessary refrigeration element to improve and improve the working conditions, or to improve the economy and safety of the chiller. Especially for Freon refrigeration systems, the refrigerant moisture must be strictly controlled, even a small amount of moisture is enough to freeze the expansion valve and cause the system to block. Therefore, in order to prevent moisture from entering the refrigeration system, a dry filter must be equipped to absorb the moisture that has entered the system.

The filter drier is very powerful in the chiller. It can not only remove the moisture in the liquid or gas, but also remove the solid impurities. Since the drier and the filter are assembled together, we call it a filter drier. It is formed by combining a desiccant and a filter element in a shell. In the chiller refrigeration system, the drier filter is a safety protection device.

In our common Freon refrigeration system, it is generally installed on the pipeline between the condenser and the thermal expansion valve (or capillary) to remove the moisture and solid impurities in the refrigerant liquid and ensure the normal operation of the chiller refrigeration system. . Its structure is right-angle type and straight-through type, etc. The commonly used desiccants are silica gel and molecular sieve. Molecular sieves are highly hygroscopic and can be close to their saturation level after being exposed to air for 24 hours. Therefore, they should be installed within 20 minutes after unpacking.

When the refrigeration system of the chiller is blocked, or when the chiller is normally repaired and maintained, we should replace the filter drier to ensure its hygroscopicity, as well as the safe and stable operation of the chiller, to meet the normal use needs of users.
