Types of Main Components of Industrial Water Chillers

Industrial water chiller is an indispensable equipment in our factory production. With its normal operation, we will have better work efficiency and higher product quality. The refrigeration system of industrial water chiller is mainly composed of four core components: compressor, condenser, expansion valve and evaporator. On this basis, in order to improve the performance of industrial water chillers, there are usually some auxiliary parts. Let me give you a detailed introduction to the main components of industrial water chillers!

1、 Main components of industrial water chiller:

(1) Compressors for industrial water chillers:

It is the heart of the whole chiller core. Its quality is enough to affect the quality of a machine, even the length of service life. The compressor is the power source to ensure refrigeration. The compressor is used to increase the refrigeration pressure in the system and let the refrigerant circulate in the refrigeration system to achieve the purpose of refrigeration. There are three common types of compressors, including open type, semi closed type and fully closed type. Generally, chillers with chilled water above 0℃ use fully enclosed compressors. If the chilled water is below 0℃, low-temperature chillers use semi enclosed compressors, while the open type is generally used in refrigeration systems with ammonia as the refrigerant.

(2) Condenser of industrial water chiller:

It is the high-temperature and high-pressure Freon of the refrigeration system. After coming out of the compressor, it enters the condenser and releases a lot of heat to the cooling medium, which is cooled and liquefied. There are three common types: water-cooled, air-cooled and evaporative. Let’s mainly talk about the water-cooled condenser. In the water-cooled condenser, the heat released by the refrigerant will be taken away by the cooling water. The cooling water can flow once or be recycled. When circulating water is used, cooling water tower or cold pool is required. The water-cooled condenser is composed of shell and tube type, casing type, immersion type and other structural forms.

(3) Evaporator of industrial water chiller:

When the Freon liquid of the refrigeration system enters the expansion valve and is sent to the evaporator, it belongs to the vaporization process. At this time, a large amount of heat needs to be absorbed to gradually reduce the temperature of the cooled medium, so as to achieve the effect of refrigeration and cooling. According to the type of cooling medium, there are two categories: evaporator for cooling liquid (water) and evaporator for cooling air.

(4) Expansion valve of industrial water chiller:

It is a throttling and depressurizing component, which reduces the condensation pressure of the refrigerant to the evaporation pressure, so it is an essential component in the refrigeration system. It is called the four major components of the refrigeration system together with the compressor, evaporator and condenser.
