Fluorinated Liquid Overview
Hydrofluoroethers (HFLEs) are compounds composed of hydrogen, fluorine, oxygen, and carbon atoms. They possess an ether structure, have a zero ozone depletion potential (ODP), a low global warming potential (GWP), and a very short atmospheric residence time, making them considered ideal alternatives to CFCs. In addition to their excellent environmental properties, HFLEs also exhibit thermal and chemical stability, moderate solubility, low toxicity, non-corrosiveness, non-flammability, no smoke or dust generation, and good material compatibility. They are easy to store and transport and are widely used in numerous fields, including medical, electronics, metals, precision instruments, optical lenses, communications, and aerospace.
HFLE CLKDOC78 is listed as a cleaning agent and refrigerant on the US Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) SNAP (Supporting Alternatives to Freon) list and has been excluded from the EPA’s list of volatile organic compounds (VOCs). It can be used in the manufacturing industries of instruments, electronics, semiconductors, medical devices, and aerospace.
